Sample Bust of Raptor Mama UPDATE***

I have some concept sketches done of some of the other characters, but I made a quick little bust of the raptor mommy just now. Ill post more later tonight.

June 4th: I made some improvement on the body and legs, but the head still resembles an alligator...gonna need some advice and see what designs we all bring in.

here's what we have so far and what we need

female dino cooks egg for her babies but it cracks (somehow) and she has to find another, she steals egg from Trex, trex chases (crazy chase sequence through the jungle) and ends up being cornered by trex, in a panic the egg slips from dinos hand, does some crazy maneuvor on a halfpipe, and breaks inbetween the two dinos.. egg slowly cracks open and pops out a giant chicken

some added notes- humans(cavemen) are annoying pidgeons i can see them running from the chase sequence (hey they could be small :o), dino has bird like qualities, he likes to bounce and dance, and trees have faces/personalities, dinos babies have hungry mouths in their stomachs like in mike's storyboards.

CHARACTER DESIGNS NEEDED::::

characters:
dino-female-mother-doesn't have to look female
dinobabies - look cute and unnerving at the same time
trex-angry yet not too scarey
2 eggs
chicken
cavemen(who act like pidgeons)
jungle creatures

setting: jungle, trees have faces, that means flowers and bushes too.


STORYBOARDS NEEDED::::

what we need is a definite reason why the first egg breaks
chase scene with the trex and jungle creatures that will have gags
second egg breaks
chicken emerges
make it short make it snappy

Alt beginning

I wanted to try a bit different approach to the opening, where you see closeups and steps of preparation in his "kitchen." And hold off on the reveal of the raptor for a little bit.

2nd image is a gag idea, he could start running on the huge egg to run away from the t-rex, but then he starts to lose control. 3rd image is a possible gag too, I was thinking during the chase sequence we could have all these close calls with the egg almost cracking, or flying up/off cliffs then landing safely. It could make our audience go "OH! DON'T BREAK!" *sigh of relief* Kind of like in the beginning of the
Disney Dinosaur movie.
